"Cops on Doughnut Shops"

No, it's not the punchline to a joke but a great fundraiser for Washington Special Olympics.

Armed with a 50-gallon drum of 70+ sunblock, Northwest Novelist and Seattle Police Captain Neil Low will be perched atop the Aurora Ave Krispy Kreme in support of the athletes of Washington Special Olympics during their "Cops on Doughnut Shops" fundraiser. About this Cause:

Celebrating its 28th anniversary in 2009, the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics is the movement's largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness campaign. Since its inception in 1981, the Torch Run has raised more than $270 million for Special Olympics athletes. Washington Special Olympics is a registered charity that benefits athletes with special needs, helping to build their confidence and prepare them for the real world.
